Sell Mobiles for Cash
Today’s mobile phone users rarely hold onto their phones for more than two or three years. This is no surprise; mobile phone manufacturers today are constantly upgrading their products. New mobile phones come with a host of features, making older models quickly obsolete. But what can we do with all those old mobile phones? The answer is simple: We can sell mobile phones for cash.
In fact, we can sell them for quick cash. A whole industry devoted to recycling mobile phones has popped up on the Internet. Consumers who have upgraded to newer phones simply have to send their outdated mobiles phones to these companies to receive a bit of extra spending money.
It’s a great deal considering that most of us would probably have tossed our old mobile phones into the trash, anyway.
Here’s how mobile-phone recycling works: Consumers scour the Web to find one of the many private companies that pay cash for used mobile phones. Once they found one they like, they log onto the company’s Web site and type in the basic information about their now unwanted mobile phone.
Consumers then wait for a bid to be sent by the recycling company. If the mobile phone owner likes the bid, he or she can accept it. If the owner thinks the bid is a bit too low, that owner can return to the Internet to work with one of the many other Web sites devoted to paying cash for old mobile phones.
Once consumers accept an offer, they then place their old mobile phones in an envelope and send them to the recycling company. Of course, some caution must be taken here. First, consumers should protect their privacy by removing their mobile phone’s SIM card. Secondly, consumers should do some basic research to make sure that the private recycling company for which they are working is legitimate.
Fortunately, there are plenty of legitimate companies out there that do recycle unwanted mobile phones for cash. These include sites such as EarthMobile.com, SellOldMobile.com and MobilePhoneXchagne.com. Each of these sites will pay solid rates – usually around 50 pounds for mobiles in working order – for used mobile phones.
Consumers, of course, don’t have to go with a private company when they choose to recycle their old mobile phones. Some consumers may want to donate their used mobile phone to a charity or non-profit organization that can’t afford to purchase mobile phones for their board members or executives.
Others might know family members, friends or co-workers who simply can’t afford a new mobile phone at this time. Passing along a used mobile phone to these folks is a great way to keep the devices from ending up in an area landfill.
Finally, others might recycle their old mobile phones during community-wide electronics recycling days. Many towns and cities host such days during the year.
But no matter what option you choose, the message couldn’t be clearer: There is absolutely no reason for you to not recycle your old mobile phones. There’s simply no excuse for tossing an old mobile phone in the trash, not where they are so many options for recycling them. In fact, throwing away a used mobile phone can only be chalked up to two reasons: laziness or ignorance.
So next time you decide to buy that new mobile phone with all the great features, spend a moment or two to decide what you’re going to do with your old mobile. Whether you donate it to a charity or whether you decide to sell your mobile for cash, you’ll know that you’re doing a good deed for the environment.
